Travel: New York City

Afternoon...

I'M BACK! New York, as ever, was beautiful and busy.
This was my third time in New York, and I love it as much
as the first and second time.

Some snaps from the airport and plane:

I did rope my mum into playing naughts and crosses!

A lot happened on this trip, so lets get started.

Firstly: My camera broke whilst I was away, so sorry for the lack of pictures. I was, and am still devastated. I have (had) a Canon 550D, and to cut the story short, I spilt water onto the screen, so now it is completely BLANK! I will be getting it repaired tomorrow, so fingers crossed it's fixable, otherwise new camera here I come (and poor a Hannah).

The first day was pretty chilled, we ate a yummy breakfast at 'Blue Fin', as you can see (I had to un-button my trousers after that mighty breakfast!) and then mooched around the shops. We also went to the 9/11 memorial, it was beautiful, a must see.

The second day was the same, minus the 9/11 memorial, we mooched and had to come back to the hotel several times for outfit changes, thankfully our hotel was on times square, so we didn't have far to walk. The outfit changes weren't because I was having a 'sex in the city', i'm fabulous moment, but the weather was so very temperamental, jackets were off and on like there was no tomorrow.

The third, and last day was the best, we had lunch at Saks, we visited Sak's restaurant last year and loved it so much, we came back this year. Me and my mum both had 'the amazing chopped salad' (it's called something like that anyway), and for a dessert I had 3 macaroons, 2 pistachio (as always) and one Champagne strawberry. These were the BEST macaroons I have ever tried, and I am a regular at Laduree. I then did a spot of shopping in Saks, where I got 2 amazing jackets and we then headed off to central park for a relaxing afternoon (it was 26 degrees at this point), of eating ice lollies and sitting on various benches.

Paloma faith was on my flight back, this was very exciting for me and my mum, although I didn't get a picture (boohoo, as my camera was broken). She was wearing a very wacky outfit, and she and her friends were extremely loud! I also sat in front of a 6ft5 man on the way back, so wasn't able to put my seat back the WHOLE way for 7 AND A BIT HOURS, my back was a little sore the next day (overnight flight).

Now back to reality...minus my beautiful camera :(

Thanks for reading.

New York City - Suitcase

Afternoon...

New York is haistly looming(tomorrow to be specific), and today is all about organising and getting prepared!
I don't know about you, but i'm a bit of a 'last minute' packer, even up until the last minute we need to be out the door, I will be throwing 'this' and 'that' into my suitcase, things I most definitely will not need, but in that moment, they are oh so 'essential'.

This time however, as I say every time I go away, it WILL be different!I am going to be super organised, and everything is going to be all sorted by tonight (...still trying to convince myself this is going to happen)...

So lets have a nosey into my suitcase, I know you want too!

Here we have them...I'm going for 5 days in total (including
travelling)

I would describe this mixture of clothing as,simple/farmer/urban outfitter-ish style

*Pictures of myself in NYC coming soon*
(If I don't look too knackered that is)

I think you will have noticed by now, I do like a little Mulberry in my life, who doesn't!

Here it is, my Barbour coat!

If you know me, you will know that tweed and elbow patches are certainly my clothing weakness. So this blazer is just perfect for me, although a little itchy on the neck.

Now the time has come, that I actually need to pack my case...maybe in a minute?

New York City - Hand Luggage

Evening...

I'm off to 'The Big Apple' on Saturday, although this being my third time, I am as excited as the first! There is something about New York that steals your heart away, especially the first time, and leaves you wanting more!

As I have been doing 'mountains' of revision...well it feels like that, I thought I would grab a cup of tea, and head upstairs to rifle through my bags, find my Longchamp and see what i'm taking as hand-luggage on Saturday!

THE BAG

(Longchamp La Pliage - Short handle Duck egg Blue)

THE most practical bag, ever. I have converted most of my friends, and my mum to be 'Longchamp' carriers and they all now love them as much as I do! These bags are great investments if you travel a lot, or just want a really study everyday bag.

THE BOOKS

(My 'Highway Code' book and Kindle)

I am currently reading 'Looking for Alaska' on my kindle, a book by one of my favourite authors, 'John Green', my favourite book of his is 'The Fault in Our Stars', a must read for dreamers and anyone who love a good old romantic/soppy book. I also, reccommended by my driving instrctor will be bringing along my 'Highway Code' book. ( Need to pass my theory ASAP!)

THE ESSENTIALS

(Urban Outfitters Aztech Purse, My Passport, Mulberry Coin purse and Jack wills card holder)

Not the most interesting, although let's take a minute to drool over my Mulberry coin purse...Other than that just the 'essential' things that I need to remember...

THE SNACKS

Just some snacks for the journey to the airport, mmmm Caramel nibbles!

THE MAKEUP

(Loccitane Hand Cream, Kiehls Moisturiser, Avene Spray, Clarins Lip Perfecter, Revlon Lip Butter, Carmex Lip Balm, Estee Lauder Day Wear and Lumi Magique Concealer)

Remembering that you can only take products of a certain amount, I have chosen a selected few to take on the flight with me (mainly with moisturising properties), in a see through bag.

THE COMFY STUFF

(Bed socks, Hair tie and Grip)

I cannot remember the last time I didn't bring a pair of bed socks with me on a flight, it just seems to make the journey, especially the long ones, 'complete', and just a little more comfy.

THE MEDICINES

(Paracetamol and Kwells)

I have always suffered with very bad motion sickness, so 'Kwells' are an essential for me, whenever I travel. They are very effective and work within less than 20 minutes! I highly recommend!

          THE PEN AND PAD

Naughts and crosses are definitely something that I will be amusing myself with, mid journey, plus I will probably rope my mum into playing with me (well, i'll try!). I also, nearly everywhere I go make a list of what I want to do in the particular place, I will try and snap some pictures mid-flight as to what I get up to!

Thank-you for reading.

What do you usually take in your hand luggage?
